Psychotherapy for Couples, Children, and Adults in Chesterfield and Online
The Therapy I Offer
My approach is Person Centred Therapy and can be defined by the following features -
Empathy for your whole experience.
Genuineness in the relationship with you.
Accepting, trusting, and believing in you.
I don't give advice, tell you what to think, or how you should be.
In this kind of relationship you are able to make the changes you want, in the way you want to. You will be taken as you are, listened to no matter what you talk about or how you talk about it, and I won't be trying to get you to be a certain way. You are then empowered and free to develop however you choose.
What you talk about in the sessions is up to you, you're in charge. That doesn't mean you need to know what to say; many people start sessions not knowing yet something usually comes up that is more relevant than anything I could have prompted. I really trust that you know best when it comes to what's inside you, what wants to be shared, and when and how that happens.
I can help with a wide variety of issues because I'm connecting with your individual experience of what it's like to have those difficulties rather than just treating the problem in a prescriptive, impersonal way. This quality of connection helps me work with all ages - young children, teenagers, and adults, providing effective therapy to anyone who needs it.

Hopefully this has helped you decide whether you'd like to start therapy with me. Please contact me to arrange a first session together, I'd be happy to hear from you.
“When someone really hears you without passing judgement on you,
without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mould you, it feels damn good…”
